However, for reasons unknown to me this changed and I found that I could not hear the audio from university lectures I had downloaded very well, and also found that some sounds were missing.Īfter some messing around with the HD Audio Manager settings I found that if I moved the balance to the left or right the sound volume would increase and sounded closer, and if I moved it to the middle the sound was weak - a bizarre type of issue and one that I have never encountered before.īelow is a list of what I have tried so far in an attempt to remedy the issue:ġ) Check of the headphones that I was using: Working as expected and cleared of any fault.Ģ) Tested the sound on my monitor: Found the same issue with the sound.ģ) Uninstalled and reinstalled the audio driver: Did nothing to resolve the issue.Ĥ) Download two different drivers: One from the ASUS website for my motherboard ( ) and one from the RealTek website (  ) -I tried both but the issue remains.ĥ) Searched Google for a solution: I came across this post ( ) which discusses the same issue and offers a couple possible solutions.Ħ) Disabled all audio enhancements: Did seem to help somewhat but only temporarily and not satisfactorily (audio quality is not as it should be and the issue seems to return on a random basis).ħ).

Hi all, I recently conducted a fresh install of Windows 10 and for the first few days the audio seemed to be working fine.
